Emilie Autumn
First off... oh my god was that a bad ass show.
Just like the last show I went to in New York (VNV Nation) I took about a HoJillion pictures. They are up on my MySpace. Most of them are captioned.
Some random thoughts though,
Veronica Varlow is fucking HOT!
I picked the wrong side of the stage.
It's really too bad the eighteen year old I met is a lesbian. Not for my own sake, but for the sake of others in my gender who live near by.
Always check to see when the last train home is. Otherwise you end up wandering the streets of New York in the wee hours of the morn. I wasn't mugged!
Apparently, Snake River Conspiracy is more mainstream than I thought. That's twice now I've heard their version of "A Love Song" while out in public. The first place was a strip club in Florida, and now as the music they played while everyone impatiently waited for the Emilie Autumn show.
Fat people dancing are hilarious. I have a picture that only vaguely captures the full impact of this.
I am definitely getting a tattoo of the statue of Atlas.
I may not have a New Yorkers apparent love of worsted wool (I mean seriously. Like every other person had on a pea coat And how come no one was wearing hats? Do people who live in New York disdain hats? Is it a Manhattan thing?) but I'd like to think of a part of me is definitely a New Yorker. Specifically that part of me that will fling myself into intersections with complete disregard for traffic or my own personal wellbeing.
Did I mention that Veronica Varlow is fuckin' HOT?! Also she does Burlesque shows. I think that might be worth making the Trek back to New York to see. Maybe not necessarily her, but just a burlesque show in general. That seems like a rollicking good time. Also, I have to figure out if I can take the train from New London to New Haven for free like I can take the train from New Haven to New York.
New London, New Haven, New York. WTF? Stupid New England and their lack of creativity!
How come tanks sold at shows are always in female sizes? Why didn't I check this before I bought it? Now I have an Emilie Autumn tank that I can't wear. The only use I can think of it is petty and uncalled for. That might be the way it goes down though.
